Reflective writing is an essential tool for
effective teaching as it allows us to evaluate what we have learnt from our
experiences and expand upon ways we wish to challenge our future trajectories.
As Gregson and Hillier (2015, p. 75) acknowledge, reflective teaching “requires
competence in methods of evidence-informed classroom enquiry, to support the
progressive development of higher standards of teaching”.
Is there a direct correlation between knowledge of technology and successful
learning and teaching outcomes? In the next few days I will aim to critically evaluate the
appropriate technologies for my discipline and reflect upon ways in which
solutions can be found.
My MA degree was in Ethnomusicology and consisted of ninety
minute lectures where technology was scarcely used. I rarely use technology in
my own teaching, so this module is going to be quite an education for me! References
